Other Golf Links. 1) Golf WRX forum is the best bang for your buck but it's a bit of a pain to set up an account and build creditability in forums if you haven't alreadyIf you've got a good reputation on eBay, don't hesitate to share your username on there as well so people can see that you're at least a reputable seller. I've bought and sold plenty of clubs on there over the past couple years and never had an issue. Sold a guy a couple pairs of pants and he said they were just too tight so I gladly took them back off his hands and returned the money. No harm, no foul.
Paypal offers a lot of protection for people as well. I was actually working on building a golf classified site that would be totally free for buyers and sellers. I currently use ebay and golfwrx. The problem with ebay is the fees, you are looking at 10%, which really cuts into your sale. The problem with golfwrx is that you need 75 posts and can only post 1 classified at a time.
There is also a huge list of rules that you have to follow and if you get 3 strikes, your out.2ndswing, golfsmith, 3balls, won't give you much at all for your clubs. It is understandable, they need to resell them and they sell a quite a few clubs on ebay.Any interest? I actually thought what I would do is having a listing for each club. So if you want to sell your ping g25, you list it in the ping g25 category. It would allow you to compare all available clubs for that model available. Maybe include a price tracker of recent sales.
Also you could be notified if anyone lists a club in that category, good for when you are looking for something rarer. Craigslist is the best deal - FREE!
You can discount clubs 10% less than what you would need to get out of them on Ebay. Ebay however has a far larger audience so if you want to sell fast - it's the way to go. I usually figure paying 10% on Ebay on average - and don't forget to count shipping - you can really get dinged if you're in Florida and someone in Oregon buys your stuff. If youre selling straight up stock items, Amazon is another option - I usually can't do this as my clubs are custom fit.
